Topics include advising clients with respect to Year 2000-related failures in financial and management systems, contractual factors, effects of non-disclosure, intellectual property issues and conflicts and failure of embedded systems. Effect of the crisis on insurance coverage, banking and accounting, and their impact on the practice, will be discussed. The sessions will cover currently filed suits and probable impact, as well as projection of the nature of future suits.

The seminar will close with a discussion of steps the firm or department can take to protect itself against Year 2000-related problems.

Faculty includes William Skeels of Strout & Skeels, an attorney with eighteen years experience designing and consulting with database use and design on litigation, legal and business management and Theodore Harper, a partner at Kilpatrick, Stockton with a wide range of Year 2000-related business practice.
