N.C. Bar Association
The North Carolina Bar Association provides information about the activities of the Bar as well as guides to other Internet resources. Of particular note is the series of public-oriented 'online pamphlets' called 'This is the Law'.
American Arbitration Association
A not-for-profit, public service organization, the Association is the largest full-service ADR provider dedicated to the resolution of disputes through the use of arbitration, mediation, negotiation, elections and other out-of-court settlement procedures.
American Association of Law Libraries
AALL is a nonprofit corporation established to promote and enhance the value of law libraries to the public, the legal community and the world, to foster the profession of law librarianship, to provide leadership in the field of legal information and to foster a spirit of cooperation among the members of the profession.
American Bar Association
The ABA maintains an excellent site, providing a number of resources for the practicing attorney. A future LawSight article will provide a more extensive individual roadmap to the series.
Association of Legal Administrators
The Association of Legal Administrators, founded in 1971, is dedicated to providing support to those professionals involved in the management of law firms, corporate legal departments, and government legal agencies. ALA provides educational opportunities and services to over 8,000 members representing more than 5,300 employers in 20 countries.
The Association of Trial Lawyers of America
As the world's largest trial bar, ATLA promotes justice and fairness for injured persons, safeguards victims' rights -- particularly the right to trial by jury -- and strengthens the civil justice system through education and disclosure of information critical to public health and safety. With about 60,000 members worldwide, and a network of U.S. and Canadian affiliates involved in diverse areas of trial advocacy, ATLA provides lawyers with the information and professional assistance needed to serve clients successfully and protect the democratic values inherent in the civil justice system.

Commercial Law League of America
The Commercial Law League of America (CLLA) is North America's Oldest Creditors' Rights Organizaion. Founded in 1895, the CLLA has nearly 5,000 members in the United States as well as in dozens of countries abroad. Its membership consists of attorneys who concentrate their practice in commercial law, collections, the Uniform Commercial Code and bankruptcy and reorganization. In addition, over 500 individuals who are employed by commercial collection agencies are members.
Computer Litigation Committee
The Computer Litigation Committee consists of over 600 attorneys located throughout the United States who are involved in Computer Litigation, one of the fastest growing legal practice areas. The Committee focuses on both litigation involving computer technology and the usage of computers by lawyers in litigation.
First Amendment Center
The Freedom Forum First Amendment Center at Vanderbilt University was founded Dec. 15, 1991, the 200th anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights to the U.S. Constitution. The Center serves as a forum for dialogue, discussion and debate on free-expression and freedom-of-information issues. The Center was created by The Freedom Forum, a financially independent, non-partisan, international organization dedicated to free press, free speech and free spirit. The Freedom Forum supports its priorities through programs, publications and projects that promote the understanding and exercise of freedoms and values embodied in the First Amendment.
The Inter-American Bar Association (I.A.B.A.)
The Inter-American Bar Association represents a permanent forum for the exchange of professional views and information for lawyers to promote the Rule of Law and protect the democratic institutions in the Americas.
International Association of Constitutional Law

The National Center for State Courts
The National Center for State Courts is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to the improvement of justice. It was founded in 1971 at the urging of Chief Justice Warren E. Burger. NCSC accomplishes its mission by providing leadership and service to the state courts.

National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc.
National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc. (NFPA) is a professional organization of state and local paralegal associations. NFPA has member associations representing over 17,000 North American paralegals.

The National Health Lawyers Association is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. National Legal Video Association
The mission of the National Legal Video Association is to promote professionalism, ethics, uniformity and specialized skills for individuals and companies involved in the field of legal videography in order to perfect the quality, availability, and efficiency of the legal video medium. The Purpose of the National Legal Video Association is to create and improve upon the understanding of the role of the legal videographer among members, customers, attorneys, judges, the court system, legislators and regulators, and the bar to ensure that they are the preferred professionals who capture the video record.
